Monday 13th and Thursday 16th October saw Stevenage Karate Club hold a special lesson for parents and guardians of our students. The lesson gave parents an excellent opportunity to have a taster of karate and join their children in learning a variety of techniques and some practical self defence skills.
The lessons began with the teaching of some basic techniques such as punching and blocking. Parents were then encouraged to partner up to experience using these techniques on one another before looking at some practical application of these techniques for self-defence.
Of course, no lesson would be complete without a game at the end to top it off! Our club favourite game of Ship Shark Shore proved to be a fierce contest with one of our parents even making it into the Top 4 against the children.
