JKA Open Championship – November 2025
Team Stevenage took part in the JKA England Open Championship on Saturday 1st November at the K2 in Crawley. We were delighted to send 6 competitors to represent the club:

The competition hall was full to the brim with over 500 competitors from over 10 different countries taking part. It was daunting enough to simply step onto the mat but all of our competitors rose to the challenge and did themselves and the club proud with their spirit and determination.
Congratulations must go to Aleksander who managed to obtain a Bronze medal in Kumite and a Silver medal in Kata!
His performance in his Kata was particularly impressive and he missed out on Gold by 0.1 of a point!
Whilst it is fantastic to come back with a medal, the experience and confidence gained by taking part in a competition is worth its weight in gold. We would like to congratulate all of our competitors for their excellent performances and hope to see them (and many more from the club) at future competitions!
